Top best answers to the question «Are school buses allowed to drive slower than traffic»

The regulation can be found in the Use of Highway and Rules of the Road Regulation – Section 70. It states that school buses can only travel 90km/h or the posted speed limit, whichever is less… This slower rate of speed can frustrate other drivers on the road.

  • In the case of our school buses, it's a "don't." Indiana law states that no school bus shall exceed 55 miles per hour on any interstate, federal or state highway. On any other roadway, our maximum speed limit is 40 miles per hour unless the posted speed limit is lower.
